CHARADES
↗✦↙
Ready when your group is
Only the actor should see the screen.
Prompts and scores stay in this screen. Nothing is saved or sent to a server, and reloading clears the round.
Short instructions, expressive rounds
01. Keep the screen for the actor
Choose one actor while everyone else guesses. Turn the device toward the actor and press Start game when the group is ready. The prompt appears immediately. Do not project it onto a screen the guessers can see, or hold the device facing the group.
02. Act without saying the answer
Use gestures without speaking or spelling letters in the air. For Brushing teeth, pretend to hold a toothbrush and move it near your mouth. For food or objects, show how they are used, their shape or their size. You do not need real props or physical contact.
03. The host scores or passes
When the group guesses correctly, press Correct for one point and a new prompt. Pass anything difficult or uncomfortable without a points penalty. The round ends when the timer expires or you finish the chosen cards. Switch actors between rounds so everyone has a chance to join in.
Keep the fun comfortable for everyone
A seated version works too
Prompts such as Running or Swimming can be shown with hands and upper-body movements. Never require actual running or lying on the floor. For a small room or a group with different movement needs, invite everyone to act while seated from the beginning.
Make contact and participation optional
Hugging can be a wide circle made with your own arms; Sneezing can be a silent gesture. Nobody needs to touch another player or imitate a person in the group. Anyone who prefers not to act can host, keep score or simply watch the round.
Use the same setup for each team
Give teams the same category, number of cards and time limit. Prompts are shuffled, so their difficulty will not be perfectly matched. Treat the scores as a way to structure the fun. If teams tie, sharing the win is a perfectly good finish.
